Writing Expectations


Requirements

~ 20 minutes or more each weekday night with 40 minutes accomplished before Friday.
~ Assignments and projects done on time
~ Your best effort

Grading

~ Writing Minutes ~ In-class work
~ Weekly assignments
~ Projects
~ Notebook (Semester grade)
~ Effort
Grade Scale

A 100-93
B 92-85
C 84-77
D 76-69
F 69-0

General Journal & Draft Expectations

~ You may write in any readable color (except purple)
~ You may write on any readable paper.
~ You may write in print or cursive or you may choose to type.
~ Spell words the best you can without a dictionary. (Do not sacrifice flow and fluency for perfect spelling on a draft.)
~ Double space drafts.
~ Do not erase. Cross out and keep going.
~ Each paper needs your name and the date the assignment is due.

General Final Draft Expectations

~ All final drafts must be typewritten.
~ Attach previous drafts and edits to the back.

~ 3-ring binder
~ 4 sections
  • Journal
  • Weekly writing
  • Information and handouts
  • Projects/ Formal assignments

~ Weekly assignments and info. will be posted at wolfwriting1.blogspot.com.

~ If you do not understand an assignment please call or e-mail (probably your best bet) me as soon as possible. Chances are, you will not be able to reach me Monday night!

~ If an assignment is WAY too difficult or seems to be taking FAR too long, please have a parent write a quick note at the top of the assignment, and I will be happy to give you extra time.

~ I would encourage you to combine assignments whenever possible.
